Use this online form if you are an attorney who is qualified to practice law in another state or in a foreign jurisdiction, not admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, and seeking to be specially admitted to the Bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in order to appear before a Pennsylvania court in connection with a particular case.
The admission fee is $375.00 per attorney per case.
The admission fee may be paid online by credit card. For all credit card transactions, a convenience fee of $2.75 will be added to the total. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. The fee may also be paid by check, money order, or bank cashier’s check made payable to the Pennsylvania IOLTA Board. After the admission form is submitted online, a voucher will be generated. This voucher must be printed and mailed with the payment.
INSTRUCTIONS
Before you start, please gather the following information:
- The applicant attorney’s license number in the primary jurisdiction where they are licensed to practice law. If the license number is unknown, contact the attorney registrar in the primary jurisdiction where the attorney is licensed.
- The license number of the Pennsylvania attorney of record (sponsoring attorney). You may obtain the license number from the Pennsylvania Disciplinary Board’s website: www.padisciplinaryboard.org.
- The number, name and court of the Pennsylvania case on which the applicant attorney wishes to enter their appearance.
- If the client being represented has been granted in forma pauperis status, evidence of this status must be attached to the application. Acceptable documentation includes a copy of the motion requesting or order granting leave to proceed in forma pauperis.

DELIVERY OF SERVICE POLICY
The Board will process payments within three (3) business days of receipt of a completed application and admission fee. Same day processing is not available. The acknowledgement letter will be delivered to the applicant’s designated contact person and the attorney of record via the delivery method (email or fax) selected for each.
REFUND POLICY
Pursuant to 204 Pa Code § 81.505.(a), no refunds will be issued under any circumstances.
